Matthew Shapiro
During my 8 year career as an amateur and professional Mixed Martial Artist, I benefited immensely from some of the best coaches and trainers in the country. I quickly learned the tremendous value of the knowledge, accountability and motivation great instructors provide. As the owner & operator of a sport-specific training facility, I helped competitive youth, adult, amateur and professional athletes develop their bodies and minds for peak performance in their particular sports. Over the years I’ve developed extensive experience in training clients, of all ages and skill levels, in baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer. As a lifelong combat athlete, I also have developed a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for coaching my athletes in wrestling, boxing/kickboxing, jiu jitsu and self-defense.
No matter their individual goals, I educate and guide clients on how to effectively implement strength, conditioning and nutrition programs to meet their specific needs. Today my clients’ goals vary widely from weight-loss/body transformation to corrective exercise, rehab, injury prevention, and beginner to advanced sports/athletic performance. As such, I build my programs on the foundation of functional strength, mobility and core training.
